One of my favorite “standard items” is the Diving Dolphin. This is the second “less intimidating toy” I have reviewed, since it takes the man’s erection to function. All the fears of being replaced by machines are gone and the man gets the enjoyment and good vibes, too.

Very similar to the Rockin Rabbit I reviewed a while back, the features of this model vary a bit – enough for me to have an interest in having them both available when I want them. This vibrating cock ring is designed for Cowgirl position, fully thrust-ed and rocking and grinding against the male partner below. This is one of those toys that becomes a very regular thing. A couple of years ago my ex and I stopped for the night at a motel, and when we sat on the bed she said, ‘How are we going to have sex? We didn’t bring the Dolphin?’ Of course I reminded her we could still have old fashioned cave man sex, but that’s the kind of impression this toy makes.

The first difference is the Dolphin material is softened PVC. It has a small phthalate risk but on the low end of the scale. I use a heavy coat of lube as a barrier. It is a firmer material than the the Rockin Rabbit with not as much stretch, but the same ring size. (Refer to that review for sizing.) The second difference is the Dolphin nose, rather than the Rabbit ears. This makes it a little faster to get on target, than moving the ears to the right spot. Very helpful for those rushed or tipsy sessions where you just want things happening fast.

The most notable difference, however, is the dual egg single controller. Instead of each partner controlling their vibrating egg, one partner controls both. This one difference can either be great, in the area of orgasm denial, or it can be horrible if one partner doesn’t know the body responses of the other. For this specific reason I’m going to say the Dolphin should only be considered for ADVANCED users. One could however replace the dual egg controller with two singles at an additional expense to overcome that issue.

The controller take 3 AA batteries and goes through them a little faster than the Rocking Rabbit’s twin controllers. It has two sliding button controls to vary the speed and intensity of each egg, built into a single controller. Also keep in mind this is a louder, more powerful full-sized toy, and not one of the small ‘pocket toys’.

I keep a couple of each of the toys around, both the Rockin Rabbit and the Diving Dolphin. Because they are toys, and they do break. The ones that died for me were from always being too aggressive, or active, and pulling the wires out of the eggs. (Don’t ask, don’t tell.) You can avoid this on all corded toys by routing the wire up the abdomen of the male and keeping it out of the way.

To wrap up, if you know your mate’s every response, its a great toy. If you desire the fetish of orgasm denial, it is also a great toy. If you’re a new couple just learning each other, then select the Rockin Rabbit as your first choice, or purchase two single eggs to go with the Diving Dolphin.

For the ADVANCED user, this toy gets 5 out of 5 stars.
