Sex in Carson City – What I Learned From Brothels

I always wondered what it would be like inside a brothel.

Part of me secretly wonders what it would be like to be a call girl.

I got my chance to tour a brothel a few years ago. One day a year during Street Vibrations, Nevada allows tours of the brothels by non-paying customers. We got a tour of three major brothels in Carson City, Nevada: Sagebrush, Kit Kat, and the Bunny Ranch.

About 25 other inquiring minds and I were allowed to ask questions, and then given a walk-through. It was completely different than my “Hollywood” idea of brothels.

Here’s what I learned:

1.) They have Pleasure Menus! I love it! I had no idea. I thought I was fairly knowledgeable when it comes to sex, but I have to I learned a few new things. You just might, too  

2.) From these I learned “Half & Half” is a little oral and then straight sex, “Mint French” is oral with a mint in the woman’s mouth, and “Hot & Cold French” is oral with different temperature liquids. Thank goodness some of these menus have explanations. I could not have guessed those.

3.) As I mentioned, this is the one day the state allows tours of the back rooms, where the magic happens. What that really means is this is the one day out of the year women, unless they are employees of the brothel, are allowed to go to the back of the house, or be in the gals rooms – even if the woman is a paying customer.

Weird state law. But they’ve legalized prostitution, so we can’t hold too much against them.

4.) If a woman is paying to be with one of the brothel gals, they have to use the “party room” – a large room near the front of the house, not unlike a kinky 1970′s living room, that is used for couples, orgies, and any female customers.

5.) Prices are negotiable. That’s why there aren’t any printed on the menus. The prettier the gal, the more she costs.

6.) Like the TV portrayal, they were all wearing lingerie and very high heels.

7.) The gals live there 3 weeks out of the month in 8′ x 10′ bedrooms.

8.) The fences surrounding the houses are not to keep overly amorous men out, but rather to keep the gals in. Not. making. this. up.

9.) There are no male hookers at these brothels. You know we asked. This answer wasn’t enough – we wanted to know why. There were a couple “all male” brothels, but they cater to men. None cater specifically to women. That’s not fair. What’s a gal supposed to do?

I still wonder what it would be like to be a call girl.
